Trade and Investment Limpopo (TIL) and the South African-Netherlands Chamber of Commerce (SANEC) sign a cooperation pact
TIL and SANEC have signed a Service Level Agreement on 9 April 2009. The agreement focuses on both parties co-operating on activities that enable economic development in the province and the Netherlands – such as increasing bilateral trade between the two.
“This is a huge victory for the province since SANEC will introduce TIL and its Limpopo stakeholders to potential investors and business partners from the Netherlands,” said Mr. Julius Mapatha, Chief Executive (Acting) of TIL. “SANEC will organise an inward trade and investment mission to Limpopo Province at least once per annum. TIL will host the delegation and handle the matchmaking between our business people and those of the Netherlands, seminar and site visits. The mission will focus on the agro-processing, tourism and technology sectors.”
The terms and conditions of the SLA as set out in this Agreement are meant to benefit Limpopo business. SANEC will host one outgoing trade mission to the Netherlands per year. This includes a three day matchmaking program for a maximum of seven companies, 4 to 6 appointments per company (a combination of group and individual appointment).
SANEC will create a Limpopo Investment Desk in the Netherlands to promote specific trade and investment projects for which the province seeks foreign investors or joint venture partners. The company, SANEC, will then forward trade enquiries to TIL. These concern enquiries from Dutch companies which are interested in TIL specific products or services.
